Job Description

Job Title: Metering Technical Authority

  • Job Type: Permanent
  • Hours : 37.5 Monday - Friday
  • Job Location : Dyce - Hybrid

We are seeking a dedicated and technically proficient individual to join our team as a Technical Support Specialist for Metering Engineers. This role is pivotal in ensuring that our metering systems operate to the highest standards, meeting all contractual, regulatory, and company requirements. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical acumen, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to work collaboratively within a team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Technical Support:

  • Provide technical assistance to Metering Engineers to ensure compliance with contractual, regulatory, and company standards.

  • Serve as the technical and operational focal point for all Metering Engineers.

  • System Management:

  • Oversee the installation, maintenance, and operation of custody transfer, allocation, and environmental metering systems.

  • Ensure daily data validation for all metering systems and manage data handoffs to allocation and reporting systems.

  • Maintenance and Certification:

  • Manage the scheduling and completion of certification for primary metering elements.

  • Ensure maintenance of measurement systems adheres to company standards, including backlog reduction and strategy improvements.

  • Review and approve proposed changes to the CMMS, maintenance builds, and capacity plans.

  • Team Management:

  • Assist in managing the metering team to maintain continuous support despite absences.

  • Contribute to competency management and personnel development.

  • Ensure new starters have access to necessary software applications and systems.

  • Procurement and Compliance:

  • Administer and manage procurement tracking and control.

  • Maintain audit tracker registers and compliance charts.

  • Support and assist in measurement-related audits and review audit reports.

  • Process and Reporting:

  • Manage mismeasurement, dispensation, and deviation processes with the Hydrocarbon accounting team.

  • Submit updates to metering manuals and procedures as required.

  • Ensure measurement systems have up-to-date uncertainty calculations.

  • Review, create, modify, and approve metering uncertainty reports.

  • Prepare and own AFA's for key metering scopes, including system upgrades and modifications.

  • Threat Management:

  • Raise and address threats related to measurement systems within PLMS.

  • Maintain equipment status sheets to reflect metering system status across all assets.

  • Review, comment, and approve AFA, TQ, and P2 for metering.

Qualifications

Essential

  • In-depth knowledge of oil & gas metering systems and equipment.
  • In –depth knowledge of hydrocarbon allocation measurement systems process modelling and software packages ie: Pipesi, Hysis or euqal
  • In-depth working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Excel, Word and Powerpoint.
  • Competent in use of KIMS, K-Trac, K-Log and FM2P.
  • Minimum of 10 years experience in oil and gas metering and allocation as per industry standard.
  • Recognised technical formal qualification ONC/HNC/Degree

Desirable

  • Experience within an oil company.
  • Accredited audit certification
