Role Overview:
As a Senior Engineer you will be a pivotal part of the Engineering Department, which is recognised industry-wide for its expertise and collaborative behaviour.
- Overall, you will be working on major, multi £m highway scheme designs and providing support and guidance to both internal and external stakeholders
- Produce designs, calculations and specifications using the appropriate software and in accordance with national standards and codes.
- Support with the assessment of and ensure compliance with scheme specific VRS requirements
- Support the wider business (e.g. Sales, Contracts, Operations and Production teams) from a technical and engineering perspective.
- Engage with customers, including Scheme Designers, Scheme Delivery Partners, Highways Authorities, Product Installers and Product Specifiers.
- Attend and participate in internal and external meetings and site visits.
- Maintain awareness of the performance of projects against agreed project plans and budgets and provide feedback.
- Provide informal mentoring of and support for colleagues within the Engineering Department.
Skills Profile
- Working knowledge of DMRB standards, associated guidance and general highways practices.
- The ability to collaborate with highways design teams to the highest appropriate technical standards
- An appropriate higher education qualification in civil and/or structural engineering or qualified by experience
- Proficient in CAD and MS Office
- A strong technical understanding with the ability to multi-task and prioritise own workload,
- Able to operate in a fast-paced organisation and be experienced in delivering high quality technical information with a focus on deadlines.
