Role Overview:

As a Senior Engineer you will be a pivotal part of the Engineering Department, which is recognised industry-wide for its expertise and collaborative behaviour.

  • Overall, you will be working on major, multi £m highway scheme designs and providing support and guidance to both internal and external stakeholders
  • Produce designs, calculations and specifications using the appropriate software and in accordance with national standards and codes.
  • Support with the assessment of and ensure compliance with scheme specific VRS requirements
  • Support the wider business (e.g. Sales, Contracts, Operations and Production teams) from a technical and engineering perspective.
  • Engage with customers, including Scheme Designers, Scheme Delivery Partners, Highways Authorities, Product Installers and Product Specifiers.
  • Attend and participate in internal and external meetings and site visits.
  • Maintain awareness of the performance of projects against agreed project plans and budgets and provide feedback.
  • Provide informal mentoring of and support for colleagues within the Engineering Department.

Skills Profile

  • Working knowledge of DMRB standards, associated guidance and general highways practices.
  • The ability to collaborate with highways design teams to the highest appropriate technical standards
  • An appropriate higher education qualification in civil and/or structural engineering or qualified by experience
  • Proficient in CAD and MS Office
  • A strong technical understanding with the ability to multi-task and prioritise own workload,
  • Able to operate in a fast-paced organisation and be experienced in delivering high quality technical information with a focus on deadlines.
