It's joining the professional business behind the monarchy.

It's feeling inspired to deliver to the very highest standards, and it's the pride in being part of a team at the heart of a world-famous institution. This is what it feels like to work at the Royal Household.

This is a brilliant opportunity to join our dynamic and professional team, offering a valuable stepping stone for anyone looking to build their career in the finance industry.

Key responsibilities:

  • You'll support the finance team by maintaining an accurate and efficient cashiering system, assisting with the calculating and preparation of daily floats and takings for both Admission and Retail departments across Buckingham Palace and Windsor Castle.
  • You'll be responsible for undertaking daily counts, completion of cash books and ensuring our visitor & etail teams have the change they need throughout the day.
  • You'll assist by reconciling cash and credit card takings to financial reports, as well as investigate and resolve any material differences, all with faultless accuracy.
  • You will be responsible for the recruitment, training and supervising the temporary cashiers to assist with a smooth cashiering function in particular during Buckingham Palace Summer Opening.

This role will be onsite, and the successful candidate must be flexible, with the ability to work between our Windsor and London locations as needed.

Essential Criteria:

  • You may already have some relevant experience working in a cashiering role or knowledge in cashbook and finance systems, but it's not essential. It's your excellent numeracy skills that we're really interested in.
  • Meticulous, with an eye for detail, you're already used to meeting high standards of accuracy in all you do.
  • With a methodical approach, you'll be able to prioritise your daily workload and meet regular deadlines.
  • What's more, you'll have great IT skills, and will be confident using Microsoft Office, in particular Excel, to process large volumes of data.
  • You're a great communicator with a customer service and relationship management focus, able to promptly and effectively handle queries while building and maintaining positive customer relationships.
