Despatch Administrator
Location: Near St Ives, Cambridgeshire
Salary: £22,000 - £23,500 with an increase after probation period
Hours: Full-time, 37 hours per week Monday - Thursday 8:30 am - 5:00 pm, Friday 8:30 am - 4:30 pm (with a 1-hour unpaid lunch break)
Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Despatch Administrator to join our client's team. This role will be integral to ensuring the smooth running of our export despatch administration process, providing essential support to UK despatch during absences. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing export logistics, working closely with warehouse and export teams to coordinate shipments and handle documentation accurately.
Key Responsibilities

Act as the primary contact between Export Administration and the Warehouse, facilitating clear and efficient communication.

Support the despatch administration team with export-related tasks, including:

Providing carriage quotes to sales teams.

Liaising with Export Admin to coordinate freight documentation.

Booking freight forwarders and couriers for export collections, using courier software to generate despatch labels.

Ensuring all parcels are correctly labeled for accurate and timely shipment.

Contacting couriers to resolve any logistical issues as they arise.

Requesting and filing Proof of Deliveries (POD) and proof of export documents.

Scheduling and coordinating UK pallet and box collections.

Ensure accurate entry of information and completion of paperwork across various systems (training provided).

Collaborate effectively with other departments, providing admin support as needed.

Uphold company health and safety guidelines, particularly in relation to handling heavy goods and maintaining a clean workspace.

Maintain confidentiality and adhere to company protocols as outlined in the Staff Handbook.
