I am looking for an experienced Change & Release Manager to join our client, a well-known public sector body. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating the change and release management within their DevOps team. Due to the nature of the role and timescales involved, candidates with active Security Clearance (SC) are ideal.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement change and release management strategies that align with organisational goals and policies.
  • Coordinate and manage the scheduling, planning, and execution of software releases and changes.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including development, operations, and IT support, to ensure seamless integration and minimal disruption.
  • Conduct risk assessments and impact analysis to evaluate the effects of proposed changes.
  • Monitor the progress of releases and changes, ensuring timely resolution of issues and communication with stakeholders.
  • Maintain documentation related to change requests, release notes, and deployment plans.

Core Skills and Qualifications:

  • Change and Release Management Experience: previously managed complex change and release processes within large organisations, preferably in the public sector.
  • DevOps Background Familiarity: Understanding of DevOps principles and practices, with experience working in a DevOps environment.
  • Hands-On Experience: Demonstrated ability to work hands-on in coordinating and executing release management activities.
  • Security Clearance: Active SC clearance is highly preferred due to the nature of the work and project timelines.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
