Junior Application Architect

Overview:

Our client, a leading financial services corporation that operates globally is hiring a Junior Application Architect to provide technical design / solution architecture proactively and holistically across our clients complex IT estate.

The ideal candidate will have the desire / passion to move into a technical architecture position with a background in software development with the ability to understand APIs (.net, Java, SQL) as our client moves from on premise into cloud (Azure). Our client is looking to pay a basic salary of £54,000 + 15% bonus with hybrid working in Chatham / Wolverhampton.

The Junior Application Architect will act as the technical bridge between TDA / Enterprise Architecture, internal development teams, external technology vendors and business stakeholders, driving improvements within our client's application landscape to support business objectives and goals.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Take ownership of Application Architecture to support our clients Enterprise Architecture function (utilising LeanIX and other tooling).
  • Collaborating with internal teams and stakeholders to work on GDPR programs, application upgrades, and strategy road mapping.
  • Assisting with Lean IX for application tracking.
  • Being an integral part of the team involved in application upgrades and modernisation projects.
  • Designing application solutions to meet business requirements and documenting detailed specifications.
  • Acting as the technical bridge between TDA/Enterprise Architecture, development teams, external vendors, and business stakeholders

Skills and Experience:

  • Experience of Technical Architecture is a must have (even at a basic level).
  • Experience of Application analysis / Development / Configuration / Infrastructure / Networking / Security and data infrastructure such as SQL is essential.
  • Knowledge of API's (.Net, Java, and or SQL) is a must have
  • Understanding of cloud technologies, particularly Azure, and Kubernetes (nice to have).
  • Ability to articulate designs into documentation and models.
  • Familiarity with multiple development methodologies such as Waterfall, Agile, and DevOps is essential
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to communicate complex needs between technical and business audiences.
