To help us grow and support our members, we are seeking a dynamic and creative Marketing and Communications Executive to join our team.

Role Overview:

The Marketing and Communications Executive will be responsible for developing and delivering a comprehensive annual Marketing and Communications Plan that effectively promotes all aspects of ILP's activities. This includes driving engagement and awareness for our membership offerings, events, publications, and training courses. The ideal candidate will have a passion for marketing and communications, strong project management skills, and the ability to create compelling content that resonates with our target audiences.

Key Responsibilities:

Manage and execute marketing campaigns across various channels including digital, social media, email, and print.

  • Create and curate engaging content for newsletters, press releases, websites, social media, and other communication platforms.
  • Collaborate with staff and members to ensure consistent messaging and branding across all communications.
  • Monitor and analyse the effectiveness of marketing campaigns, providing regular reports and insights for continuous improvement.
  • Plan and coordinate promotional activities for events, including advertising, sponsorship opportunities, and media partnerships.
  • Support the development of marketing materials for membership, events, publications and training courses.
  • Engage with members and stakeholders to understand their needs and enhance member communication and satisfaction.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in marketing and communications.

Key Requirements:

  • Educated to degree-level, or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in a similar marketing and communications role.
  • Strong understanding of digital marketing strategies and tools, including social media, SEO, email marketing, and analytics.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a flair for creating compelling content.
  • Proficiency in marketing software and tools (e.g., CRM systems, content management systems, email marketing platforms, social media content management software).
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
  • Creative thinker with strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach.
  • Experience in event marketing and promotion is an advantage.
  • Knowledge of the lighting industry is a plus.
