Pastoral Support

Rotherwood Education are currently recruiting a Pastoral Support to join a dynamic, well-established secondary school in Burnley. The role is a full-time ongoing starting ASAP.

The school has extremely strong, traditional values. The staff strive to provide the best care and education for each pupil as well as preparing them with the skills and knowledge to navigate through their lives with confidence.

The ideal Pastoral Support will:

  • Provide support to all pupils, including those with SEND and SEMH needs.
  • Support the 'oncall' process by being present on corridors and supporting pupil transition around the school.
  • To support investigations, as requested, into breaches of the Behaviour Policy by pupils, collating statements and liaising with staff.
  • To communicate directly with parents/carers as appropriate regarding pupil attitudes, behaviour and progress.
  • To be involved, as appropriate, in the assessment of clients being referred.
  • To provide behavioural advice, guidance and consultation to families, support staff and other professionals.
  • To manage highly complex information and sensitive situations involving exposure to distressing, traumatic and emotional material, including exposure to challenging behaviours.
  • To communicate in a skilled and sensitive manner, information concerning the assessment, formulation and intervention plans.
