Control Analyst

Job Description:A leading global financial institution is seeking a dedicated professional to join their RADAR Controls team. This role involves supporting the implementation and execution of control processes to validate the completeness and integrity of Operations reconciliations. Key responsibilities include performing account mapping, conducting balance validation exercises, and investigating discrepancies through to resolution.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Create and execute controls to validate the completeness and integrity of Operations reconciliations, including all system mapping related to the accounts.
  • Weekly monitoring of reporting ensures all accounts are correctly classified.
  • Detect and investigate differences between the reporting systems and the general ledger. Analyse root causes and ensure appropriate actions are taken to remediate them.
  • Escalate unresolved issues in line with the procedure escalation policy.
  • Liaise with business partners to understand key risks and resolution plans where applicable.
  • Maintain issue tracking for internal or external review.
  • Enhance existing procedures to incorporate changes required after project reviews and to adopt regulatory requirements.
  • Assist with the production of monthly statistics and update departmental decks.
  • Manage time effectively, ensuring readiness to provide updates on investigations, communicate known risks, and detail resolution plans.
  • Establish effective partnerships with colleagues in Operations, Controls, Finance, and other stakeholder groups to share knowledge, promote best practices, and raise awareness of key controls.

Experience / Competencies:

  • Experience in the financial services sector is advantageous.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to recognise key issues and escalate them on a timely basis.
  • Proficiency with MS Excel is essential.
  • Understanding of basic project management disciplines, particularly process mapping and documentation.
  • Good interpersonal skills, able to communicate effectively with all levels of staff.
  • Self-motivated with strong organisational skills.
  • Able to consistently work to exacting standards of accuracy.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent.
