A UK leading investment management firm is looking to hire a Group Tax Manager for the team. The firm provides investment management, financial planning and fund management services to a number of high net worth individuals and institutions across the country. The firm has a rich legacy of delivering successful investment outcomes and prides itself on providing expert advice in a timely and professional manner.
Your new role
In your new role as a Group Tax Manager you will be responsible for overseeing all the groups tax compliance and reporting across the UK which covers corporation tax, employment tax, indirect tax and ad-hoc tax assignments.

  • Manage the timely delivery of UK tax computations and returns, working closely with external tax providers and addressing any enquiries from HMRC.
  • Coordinate and manage the Group's R&D claims process, supported by external tax providers.
  • Oversee the timely delivery of overseas tax computations and returns in the Crown Dependencies, supported by external tax providers.
  • Perform tax provisions calculations for current and deferred tax at the half-year and year-end reporting process, producing the tax disclosures required for inclusion in the Group consolidated and legal entity statutory accounts.
  • Collaborate with external auditors, liaise with internal and external stakeholders, and deal with local tax authorities.
  • Ensure the Group is compliant with transfer pricing requirements and all relevant tax legislation.
  • Prepare and submit quarterly VAT returns for the UK groups
  • Participate in M&A transactions and ensure stakeholders are aware of any tax implications
  • Ensure tax balances are correct in monthly reports and regularly review any overseas tax payments made by the UK group

What you'll need to succeed
To succeed in this position you will

  • Ideally be a Chartered Tax Advisor (CTA Qualified)
  • Be confident in advising key stakeholders on direct and indirect tax matters
  • Have a solid understanding of UK VAT standards and ideally experience with partial exemption processes
  • Have the ability to manage multiple deadlines and support a team through tax projects
  • Confident in liaising directly with HMRC
