The Association of School and College Leaders (ASCL) is the leading professional association and trade union for all school and college leaders. We are proud to support and represent more than 25,000 members throughout the UK in primary, secondary and post-16 education who lead their schools and colleges to help to shape the future of the national education system and provide high quality professional development opportunities.

ASCL is seeking to appoint a Head of Hotline, a telephone advice line for ASCL members.

Now is an exciting time to join the Association following the recent appointment of Pepe Di'Iasio as our General Secretary. Pepe is supported by the Presidential Trio, comprising serving school and college leaders elected to represent members, and together with ASCL Council and ASCL Executive, they have a close partnership with ASCL Leadership Group which manages the running of the Association. Pepe's leadership marks the start of a new phase of strategic development and evolution for the Association.

You will be a key member of the Member Support team, overseeing the essential processes and working of the Hotline service in leading our efforts in ensuring unparalleled service to our valued members. The Head of Hotline will lead a team of dedicated support professionals, developing strategies to enhance member satisfaction and retention. The vacancy arises through the retirement of the present postholder.

The role requires an individual who can work strategically in addition to taking a hands-on, operational approach in terms of supporting members. Your ability to lead, influence and guide others drawing on your previous experience is an important requirement of the role regardless of your industry / sector background.

This role is paid on a five-point incremental range from £68,259 - £75,310 per annum. The postholder will work from home, with IT and telephone equipment provided, with attendance at ASCL HQ in Leicester and other locations across the UK as required. Reasonable travel and out-of-pocket expenses are also covered.

ASCL is an equal opportunities employer and offers a very generous package of benefits, including 33 days holiday plus bank holidays and a pension scheme to which the association contributes 9%. We encourage applications regardless of age, disability, gender reassignment, marriage and civil partnership, pregnancy and maternity, race, religion or belief, sex or sexual orientation.
