At Southwark Council, we're looking for an innovative and dedicated Applications Support Manager to lead our dynamic Technology and Digital Services (TDS) team in the management of Asset Management systems, the role is placed within the Finance division.

As an Applications Support Manager, you will play a pivotal role in managing and enhancing our asset management applications, particularly focusing on Total Mobile Service Connect. You'll be part of a specialist team, ensuring our applications run smoothly and efficiently, meeting the evolving needs of our user community. Your technical expertise and leadership will be instrumental in driving the continuous improvement and strategic development of our application portfolio.

In this role, you will:

  • Lead and Innovate: Take charge of our applications, ensuring they operate efficiently and effectively. Bring your vision and leadership to system improvements and enhancements.
  • Support and Collaborate: Provide exceptional service to our users, promptly addressing issues and requests. Work closely with a diverse range of stakeholders, from senior managers to external partners, to resolve challenges and optimise our systems.
  • Document and Share Knowledge: Ensure that our applications are well-documented and that knowledge is shared across the team, fostering an environment of continuous learning and development.
  • Drive Projects and Change: Assist in the project management of system upgrades and new application deployments. Ensure that user requirements are met and changes are controlled and tested in line with our strategic goals.

About You:

To excel in this role, you will bring:

  • Extensive Technical Expertise: You have strong knowledge of asset management systems or similar major corporate systems. Your ability to work with SQL to manipulate and report on data will be crucial.
  • Leadership and Collaboration Skills: You're adept at managing stakeholders, building trust, and fostering collaboration. You can effectively supervise and support colleagues, ensuring seamless service delivery.
  • Problem-Solving Prowess: You are skilled at troubleshooting and resolving complex issues, with a knack for finding innovative solutions to technical challenges.
  • Project Management Abilities: You have experience in managing projects, developing plans, and ensuring progress aligns with strategic objectives.
  • Effective Communication: You're a clear communicator, capable of articulating complex concepts to a variety of audiences and producing comprehensive documentation.
  • Empower and Educate: Offer informal training and advice to users, enhancing their understanding and effective use of our business applications.
