Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) - September 2024 start

In partnership with this 'Good' SEN school we are recruiting a HLTA to provide professional support to a team of teaching assistants in delivering teaching and learning to students in a SEN based school.

Actual pro rata Salary: 37.5hrs/wk Mon - Fri (Term time) £20.000

This HLTA role will require someone who:

  • has a sense of humour
  • experienced working with SEN children
  • able to cover classes across a variety of year groups
  • has energy with a professional approach to work
  • an ability to manage others in a positive way
  • the ability to prioritise
  • used to managing others and can work well in a team.

HLTA Responsibilities and Qualification:

  • To monitor and assess the students learning recording and reporting the students' progress and development.
  • To assist in the development and management to a team of teaching assistants to build on the schools teaching and learning delivery
  • To organise and supervise administrative systems within the school
  • To liaise and work with line management with the SENCo and other SLT
  • Provide verbal and written feedback on lesson content, student responses to learning activities and student behaviour, to teachers and students in line with school policy.
  • To support the students in social and emotional well-being, reporting and managing any problems as they arise
  • To use positive behaviour management strategies in line with the school's policy and procedures to contribute to a purposeful learning environment and encourage the students to interact and work cooperatively with others.

Fully Enhanced DBS registered with the update service.

This role would suit an experienced teaching assistant in the SEN setting wishing for progression or an existing HLTA looking to work in the SEN sector.

Level 4 HLTA qualification is desirable
