Chief Compliance Officer (Must have Crypto background - Remote)

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Chief Compliance Officer (CCO) with a strong background in the cryptocurrency industry. This remote role demands a deep understanding of global compliance regulations and the ability to navigate the rapidly evolving legal landscape of the crypto market. The CCO will be responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing the company's compliance program to ensure adherence to international standards, mitigate risks, and uphold the highest ethical standards.

**Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and Implement Compliance Programs: Design, implement, and manage a comprehensive compliance strategy tailored to the cryptocurrency industry, ensuring compliance with global regulatory requirements.
  • Global Regulatory Compliance: Monitor, interpret, and apply international laws and regulations related to cryptocurrency and digital assets, including AML, KYC, GDPR, and other relevant frameworks.
  • Risk Management: Identify potential compliance risks and implement strategies to mitigate them, ensuring that the company operates within legal boundaries at all times.
  • Policy Development: Draft, review, and update internal policies and procedures to align with global compliance standards and industry best practices.
  • Training and Education: Conduct regular compliance training sessions for staff to ensure a thorough understanding of regulatory obligations and promote a culture of compliance across the organization.
  • Regulatory Reporting: Prepare and submit necessary reports to regulatory bodies, ensuring that all required disclosures are accurate and timely.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Act as the primary liaison between the company and regulatory authorities, and provide clear and concise compliance advice to senior management and the board of directors.
  • Continuous Monitoring: Establish and maintain ongoing monitoring systems to ensure continuous compliance with changing regulations and internal policies.
  • Audit and Investigations: Lead internal audits and investigations related to compliance issues, reporting findings to senior management and recommending corrective actions.

**Qualifications:

  • Experience: Minimum of 7-10 years of compliance experience, with a strong focus on the cryptocurrency industry.

  • Global Compliance Expertise: In-depth knowledge of global regulatory frameworks and experience in applying compliance strategies across multiple jurisdictions.

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Law, Finance, Business, or a related field. Advanced degrees or certifications in compliance (e.g., CAMS, CCEP) are highly desirable.

  • Skills:

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.

  • Ability to work independently in a remote environment and manage a global team.

  • Proficiency in compliance management software and tools.

  • Attributes: High ethical standards, attention to detail, and the ability to stay updated on the latest regulatory developments in the cryptocurrency space.
