We are currently working with a Local Authority who are looking for a HR Business Partner to provide support to the team until March 2025. The post will provide expert human resources and organisation development support, advice and guidance to managers and employees at the Council.
Experience in employee relation and change is essential for the role.
HR Business Partner
Location: South West
Rate: £25 - 28 per hour via Umbrella
IR35 Status: Inside IR35
Duration: 6 months
Hours: Full-time
Set-up: Hybrid working
Duties:
- To work as a professional HR Business Partner to all functions of the Council including Academies, Schools and external customers
- Responsible for the provision of professional, specialist, consistent and proactive HR advice, guidance and coaching in line with the organisations policy and procedural frameworks and legislation.
- Responsible for safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children at all times through the work of HR
- Lead HR projects ensuring appropriate consultation, decision making and implementation processes are followed
- To enhance the organisation's and customers' people management performance by equipping and enabling managers to manage their staff with minimal HR intervention through coaching and training delivery
- Participate as required in consultative arrangements with Trade Unions
Required skills and experience:
- Ability to advise on the full range of HR matters related to the council and schools
- Up to date knowledge of employment legislation and best HR practice within a Local Authority setting
- Experience of dealing with casework (capability, disciplinary, ill-health etc)
- Experience of carrying out job evaluation
- Excellent communication skills and able to communicate to a wide range of audiences
- Specialist knowledge of NJC and JNC terms and conditions of employment is desirable
- Knowledge of Teachers Pay and Conditions of employment is desirable
