Environmental Advisor/ Environment Project Support required for our client who work within the Heavy Civils sector across the UK and are looking for someone in based in Henfield office. The Environment Project Support will have proven experience in Environment, Civil Engineering or Construction and will be working in the Pre contract Estimating department, studying project documentation and its environmental context to identify constraints and opportunities for delivery.
Environmental Advisor/ Environment Project Support Position Overview
- Provide environmental advice to sites and office teams
- Support Early Contractor Involvement with environmental advice and deliverables
- Support the Estimating Team to develop effective bid strategies.
- Help to prepare projects for delivery, ensuring that environmental issues are highlighted for the team and are being managed
- Engage with environmental stakeholders to understand their requirements and develop means of implementing them
- Produce applications for Marine Licences, Environmental Agency Permits, Planning applications, Public Rights of Way closures, Heritage Consents etc.
- Produce environmental management plans
- Advise on the Scope and management of environmental specialists/ sub-contractors necessary for project delivery.
- Engage / support Ecologists, Archaeologists, Noise specialists, Invasive species management contractors etc.
- Attend industry environmental forums / groups
- Communicate regularly with the SHEQ Team and integrate advice and working practices within the ISO14001 management system.
Environmental Advisor/ Environment Project Support Position Requirements
- Educated to HND / Degree Level within a suitable discipline
- Background of an environmental specialism - ideally ecology, heritage or contaminated land
- Professional membership of an environmental organisation would be advantageous
- Knowledge of environmental impacts and their management for construction projects
- Any previous Estimating or BID involvement would be advantageous
- Good communication skills
- UK Driving Licence
