The ideal candidate will have lived experience and understand the importance of providing a safe space for someone who is going through a mental health crisis. They also understand the peer support model and can work remotely. We have a very strong team ethos and believe in our buddy system which you will be working with one other peer supporter during your shift. This position is a zero hours role for our out of hours crisis line which operate from weekdays 6pm-12am and weekends 12pm-12am. This role requires you to be on-call which means you are able to be ready when someone calls the crisis line and provide support.

Our peer supporters will have to attend our monthly clinical supervision, team meeting and 1-1 which is based in our office in Brixton. You will have to also complete training that is based in our Head Office in Balham as and when required and complete e-learning courses at home. This is an exciting opportunity to work for a role which your very own lived experiences can help make a difference to someone going through a crisis.

We focus on building short-term relationships that are mutual, explorative and based on equality.

The ideal person will have lived experience of using mental health services or caring for someone in an unpaid role. You must be able to demonstrate the ability to motivate people and help in any recovery processes. Having excellent communication skills is also essential.
