Randstad is looking for a Test Technician Specialist who want to be challenged and are interested in progressing with the company. You will provide technical expertise, perform complex electrical/mechanical work and will work with and contribute towards a team of semi-skilled and skilled employees.
Job Overview:
This skilled role allows you to develop your communication and interpersonal skills as well as use your initiative.You will interact with hourly and salaried employees at your facility and will receive guidance from your team leader.
Many opportunities exist for Test Technician Specialists who are keen to progress in the production environment and to leadership positions. Works with limited management to test transmission and OTG assemblies to determine malfunctions and make repairs as required.
Job title: Test Technician Specialist
Job type: 6 months initially (possibility of extension)
Pay rate:
Day Shift - £15.06 / Hr**.**
Night Shift - £20.08 / Hr.
Overtime - £22.59 / Hr. (First ten hours).
Overtime - £30.12 / Hr. (After ten hours overtime)
Location: Springvale, Belfast BT12
Working days: 37.5 hours per week
Working days: Monday to Thursday
Shift time:
Days: 07:00 - 17:15 on Monday & 07:00 - 16:45 (Tues - Thursday)
*Occasional night shifts may be required and will be paid on time and 1/3rd
Night shift: 20:15 - 06:30 on Monday & 20:45 - 06:30 on (Tues - Thursday)
- Set shift pattern of 9.75 hours on a Monday and 9.25 hours per day Tuesday -Thursday*

Responsibilities:
- Performs special tests on transmissions to prove engineering design theory, performance, endurance, and vibration tests, etc.,
- Performs non-routine tests on transmissions and special transmissions and other units when only general information is available
- Interprets complex prints and electrical drawings to perform tests
- Documents and analyses results of tests and provides appropriate feedback
- Sets up and simulates test for special panels with the aid of the component documentation
- Updates computer records on machine/progress faults
- Compliance with safety and quality standards
- Compliance with 5S programme and other business improvement initiatives
- Display behaviour and conduct fitting with our Values in Action
- Train other employees when required
- Any other appropriate duties
Required Qualifications
- Formal apprenticeship or National Vocational Qualification equivalent in electrical or mechanical discipline level 3 or above
- Must be flexible to work days and nights as required.
- Comprehensive knowledge of tests with limited data available transmissions and OTG assembly
- The ability to follow and comprehend verbal, specific and detailed procedures, and work instructions as well as difficult arithmetic calculations to perform the duties described above
- The ability to read and interpret mechanical and electrical schematic drawings
- The ability to use a variety of power tools, hand tools and complex testing equipment
- Be able to work shifts
- Physical ability to fulfil the requirements of the job
