Butler Rose are delighted to be working alongside a Torbay based service business who have a current requirement for a Buyer. The chosen candidate will work closely with a small but dedicated procurement team to deliver strategic procurement. Duties are wide ranging in scope and will include supply base consolidation, supplier onboarding and the management of existing contracts.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a small tight knit team where full training and mentoring will be provided. An opportunity for further career development, including the opportunity to study CIPS is also available. Hybrid working opportunities will also be available, after an initial settling in period.
Duties include (but are not limited to):
- Consolidation of the supply base and management of categories
- Oversight of existing contracts and relationships with suppliers
- Reporting on key performance indicators (KPIs) related to procurement activities
- Risk identification and management
- Choosing the appropriate procurement routes and sources of supply
- Identifying opportunities for improvement and value addition
- Conducting negotiations with suppliers and stakeholders
- Keeping supplier catalogues and pricing information current
- Ensuring procurement activities comply with relevant policies, regulations, and ethical standards
- Maintaining accurate records of all procurement transactions for auditing purposes
- Identifying and implementing best practices to optimise efficiencies in the procurement process

- Proven experience in procurement

- Proficiency in using Excel, procurement systems and software
- Excellent organisational and analytical abilities

- Salary up to £37,500
