About the Job

You will work in partnership and with the HR Directors, HR Business Partners, and stakeholders to design and develop Unipart's strategic talent agenda and deliver effective succession planning and talent management practices to ensure Unipart retains and develops talent to drive our organisation's growth and success. You will operate as the Talent expert, to coach and support senior HR and business leaders to deliver talent plans, talent projects and play a key role in supporting the development of talent and learning solutions that enhance our employees performance to achieve our current and future goals.

As part of your key responsibilities you'll:

  • Collaborate with the HRD's and HRBP's to ensure talent strategies are aligned with Unipart's strategic objectives, impacting organisational performance positively
  • Develop Unipart's strategic talent agenda, and partner with HRD's and HRBP's to decide the approach to buy and build talent, address talent gaps and cultivate a culture of talent development and retention
  • Design, develop and codify succession planning and talent management practices for the identification, development, mobilisation and retention of high potential talent
  • Provide thought leadership and shape new thinking and innovation across the whole Talent agenda
  • Create and implement talent metrics at site, division, functional and organisational level
  • To coach and support the HR function and business leaders to co-ordinate, implement and embed succession planning, talent management practices, talent reviews, promotion and ongoing improvements to our performance management approach
  • Contribute to the design and implementation of career development strategies, tools and resources
  • Be the expert on the internal and external talent market and advise HRD's and HRBP's on trends and opportunities
  • Lead initiatives to identify and develop critical talent and facilitate talent mobility programs to foster career growth and retention
  • Implement, oversee and develop goal setting and performance development processes to drive employee engagement, accountability and continuous feedback
  • Work closely with the Early Careers and Graduate Manager to ensure alignment and partnership
  • Work closely with the Talent Acquisition Team to ensure we attract talent into the organisation
  • Support our Capability Partners as needed with program development and delivery of our Leadership programs and interventions
  • To develop innovative and digital solutions to enhance the delivery of talent interventions
  • Develop talent management content to Unipart standard and share across Unipart
  • Seek good practice across Unipart, share and update Unipart Way Online content and share success stories with internal Communications Team
  • Coach leaders and Organisational Capability Champions/Leads as required

About You

Essential:

  • Significant experience in developing a talent strategy and talent initiatives and large-scale capability initiatives
  • End to end project management of strategic programs in large organisations
  • Ability to apply strategic thinking to connect related work and make recommendations aligned to business drivers
  • Strong collaboration skills including the ability to work with diverse and dispersed working teams, without direct reporting relationships
  • Excellent verbal and written skills
  • Data lead approach with the ability to relate commercial and people insights to inform decision making
  • Strong project management skills, high level of numeracy
  • Cross cultural awareness
  • Worked in large scale operational environments
  • Proven facilitation skills, able to deliver with credibility at all levels
  • Coaching and mentoring skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to influence at a senior management level
  • Self-motivated: able to work on own initiative whilst balancing the need to involve others for maximum effectiveness
  • IT literate (Advanced Level PowerPoint, Intermediate Word, Excel)

Desirable:

  • Relevant Degree qualification/ Chartered CIPD or equivalent
  • Coaching and mentoring qualification (ILM)
  • Experience of site/divisions "startups", new business integration and organisational change
