Hyperion Partners is pleased to be recruiting on behalf of a leading Build to Rent operator in London. We are seeking a reliable and skilled Maintenance Operative to join their team and provide first-class maintenance support across a portfolio of high-quality residential properties.
About the Role:
As a Maintenance Operative, you will be responsible for the upkeep, repair, and overall maintenance of Build to Rent properties. Working across multiple sites, you will ensure that residents enjoy a safe, comfortable, and well-maintained living environment. This role involves a mix of reactive and preventative maintenance, with a strong focus on delivering a high standard of service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Carry out general maintenance tasks, including plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, and minor repairs
- Respond to maintenance requests from residents and ensure issues are resolved promptly and efficiently
- Conduct routine inspections of communal areas and plant rooms to identify any repair or maintenance needs
- Assist with planned preventative maintenance programmes, ensuring all systems and equipment are well-maintained and in good working order
- Work closely with the property management team to schedule and prioritise maintenance tasks
- Coordinate with external contractors when necessary, ensuring work is completed to a high standard and within agreed timelines
- Maintain accurate records of all maintenance work completed and report on any recurring issues
- Ensure all work complies with health and safety regulations and company standards
- Be part of an on-call rota for out-of-hours emergency maintenance, ensuring swift responses to urgent issues
Key Requirements:
- Proven experience in a maintenance or facilities role, preferably within the residential property sector
- Strong working knowledge of general maintenance tasks, including plumbing, basic electrics, and carpentry
- Good understanding of health and safety regulations, with a proactive approach to risk management
- Ability to work independently and manage your own workload efficiently, prioritising tasks as needed
- Excellent communication and customer service skills, with a focus on resident satisfaction
- A flexible and adaptable approach, with the ability to respond to emergency call-outs when required
- Full UK driving licence is required
- Relevant qualifications or certifications (e.g., City & Guilds, NVQ) in trades such as plumbing, electrical, or carpentry are an advantage but not essential
