N.B - This is a full time office role

Job Summary

This role is part of the Strategic Execution Function. It is not intended to be fully defined, but fluid

depending on the peaks and troughs which occur in the business throughout the annual cycle. A core

focus of the role will be deal and project analysis - deals will consist of reviewing new start-ups,

existing business units, strategic changes to corporate structure and resulting financial impacts.

Project analysis will consist of any project the business carries out to ensure accretive to business

value. Analysis will include NPV, IRR, P&L, Balance Sheet, Cashflow, ad-hoc reporting, all of which will

be to extremely tight deadlines and therefore the ability to deal with multiple assignments and

deadlines will be imperative.

Duties and Responsibilities

Your responsibilities for this role may include, but are not limited to:

1. Management reporting and financial analysis

2. Provide regular and ad-hoc reporting on the performance of the group from an underwriting

perspective

3. Support group strategic initiatives

4. Analysis and resolution of queries from insurers

5. Performing analysis in relation to new business start-up ventures (this will include P&L,

balance sheet, cash flow, valuation and relating analysis required for Group investment

appraisal)

6. Project analysis - e.g. investment return on spend and resource within the remit of the COO

7. Building templates and models, as directed

8. Ad-hoc projects as required

Compliance & Regulatory Responsibilities

1. Remain compliant with FCA requirements at all times

2. Obtain appropriate approvals to ensure compliance with company policy, procedures and

regulatory requirements and rules, with regards to data protection, money laundering, etc

3. Maintain accurate records and deal with correspondence appropriately

Essential Skills, Knowledge, and Experience

  • Newly qualified member of a recognised accountancy body (ACA or ACCA preferred)
  • Experience of managing multiple stakeholders
  • Commercially savvy, proactive, bright, energetic, and positive with a 'can do' attitude and a

focus on getting things done

  • Ability to support success and timely delivery in a complex, multi-disciplinary environment,

including ability to solve issues as they arise in response to a fast-paced environment

  • Ability to handle a varied workload and competing priorities
  • Ability to deliver quality outputs within tight timelines
  • Strong analytical, research and reporting skills and strong attention to detail
  • Personal drive and resilience in established and new/changing situations - motivated to grow

and develop with the needs of the business

  • Able to contribute within a team environment, with a strong interest in the performance of

the business as a whole

  • Project experience
  • Strong written and spoken communication skills to enable effective communication at all

levels

  • Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Word, Excel and PowerPoint

o Advanced Excel - nested VLOOKUP's, data manipulation, pivot tables, etc.

Preferred Skills, Knowledge, and Experience

  • Experience of working in a decentralised team, particularly with international team members
  • Educated to a minimum of degree level (2:1 classification and above)
  • Experience of implementation of control procedures
