Works Manager

Salary: £38,000 - £40,000
Responsibilities:
- Oversee the processing department, including saws and shot blasters, to maximize efficiency and minimize lead times.
- Supervise works foremen and warehouse operatives, manage shift patterns, and ensure effective task delegation.
- Work closely with sales and transport teams to optimize daily outputs and meet customer needs.
- Lead training programs to develop a multi-skilled workforce, ensuring all employees are well-versed in their duties and safety procedures.
- Manage the Safety Cloud portal for ISO45001:2018 compliance, oversee PPE adherence, and conduct safety drills and audits.
- Ensure all personnel follow quality systems and procedures in line with ISO 9001:2015 standards.
- Monitor and control warehouse costs, ensuring they stay within budget.
- Oversee the maintenance schedule for site equipment and facilities, ensuring all repairs and checks are completed promptly.
Requirements:
- Proven experience in a managerial role within a similar industry; metals, manufacturing, engineering.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations, particularly ISO45001
- Familiarity with quality assurance standards, especially ISO 9001
- Excellent organisational and communication skills.
Benefits:
- £38,000 - £40,000 per annum.
- Monday to Thursday 8:45 am - 5:00 pm, Friday 8:45 am - 4:30 pm.
- 25 days annual leave + Bank Holiday
