As a SEN Support Assistant specialising in challenging behaviour, your primary responsibilities will include:
- Providing tailored support to students with special educational needs, focusing on those with challenging behaviour.
- Implementing strategies and interventions to manage and de-escalate challenging situations effectively.
- Collaborating with teaching staff and other professionals to create and maintain a positive and inclusive learning environment.
- Monitoring and recording progress, ensuring that individualised education plans are followed.
- Demonstrating a high level of resilience and consistency in managing challenging behaviour.
To be successful in this role, you must possess the following qualifications and experience:
- Previous experience working as a SEN Support Assistant, with a specific focus on challenging behaviour.
- Relevant qualifications in Special Education or related field.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to remain calm and composed in challenging situations.
- High level of resilience and consistency in supporting students with behavioural needs.
Requirements:
- Full-time availability.
- Willingness to work in Wakefield and surrounding areas.
- Valid DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check.
