Finance Business Analyst

Posted by EJ Legal Limited.

Are you a dynamic financial analyst with a passion for driving business performance? We are looking for a highly skilled and motivated individual to join our client as a Business Finance Analyst. In this pivotal role, you will be at the heart of financial operations, regularly reviewing actual performance against forecasts and budgets, and playing a key role in the strategic planning and financial management of the business. Your expertise will help shape the financial success of practice groups, and fee-earners by closely monitoring key financial targets, including billing, chargeable hours, and profitability.

You will work closely with the Business Partnering and Management Accounts teams to assist with budgeting and planning cycles, with a keen focus on charge-out rate and salary analysis. You'll also collaborate with the Business Intelligence team to conduct profitability analyses at various levels, from client to partner, providing valuable insights that drive decision-making. In addition to supporting the production of comprehensive management information packs, you'll be responsible for enhancing the existing reporting processes, finding innovative ways to simplify, automate, and visualize data, thereby improving communication with stakeholders.

The firm you will be joining is on a steep upward trajectory, driven by strong performance in its non-UK practice, particularly in Europe, and remains focused on growth, recently opening an office in Asia. For those seeking experience at a UK-based firm with an ambitious international outlook and a strong balance of private client and transactional work, this firm offers an exciting opportunity.

Ideally you will have a strong financial analysis background, with advanced Excel skills and experience using practice management systems such as Elite 3e. While a professional accounting qualification is a plus, it's not essential, if you have a strong academic background. Previous experience in the legal sector or a partnership structure would be beneficial, but more importantly, you should possess excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to manage your workload effectively. Strong communication skills and the ability to build relationships at all levels are crucial, as is a proactive, adaptable, and resilient approach to your work.

If you're ready to take on a role that offers both challenge and opportunity, where your analytical skills can make a real impact on business outcomes, we'd love to hear from you. Apply today to take the next step in your career!
