About the Café
The Café was founded with the vision of creating a space for people to connect and share kindness. Inspired by personal experiences and a desire to foster a sense of community, the café operates on a recommended donation basis, allowing patrons to pay as little or as much as they want. The café features:
- A stunning space created by interior designers
- An 80-cover capacity with an additional 20 spaces outside
- A variety of activities including mindfulness classes, Tai Chi, mother and baby groups, nutrition workshops, calligraphy classes, book clubs, and hand massages
- A vegan/vegetarian menu prepared in a state-of-the-art kitchen
Role Overview
The Café Manager will be responsible for the day-to-day running of the café, ensuring it remains a welcoming and inclusive space for all. Key responsibilities include:
- Overseeing kitchen and front of house operations
- Coordinating and promoting café activities
- Managing volunteers and potentially a volunteer champion
- Developing and implementing marketing strategies, including social media management
- Handling financials and reporting
- Conducting regular meetings with the founder
- Ensuring the café maintains its high standards of service and community engagement
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate will be a social butterfly, passionate about life, living, and kindness. They will have:
- Experience in running a café or hospitality establishment, preferably with start-up experience
- Excellent people skills and the ability to inspire and manage a team of volunteers
- Creative ideas for activities and community engagement
- Proficiency in social media management and marketing
- Strong financial acumen and the ability to oversee budgeting and reporting
Working Hours
40 hours per week. The café is open 7 days a week so there is flexibility required for weekend work.
