Supervising Social Worker - Kinship Service - Manchester City Council - £35ph!

In Manchester we are on an ambitious journey to raise the aspirations and experience of our children and young people in family based care. We are looking for individuals who are skilled in this area and committed to achieving great outcomes for our children.

We have a vacancy for a Supervising Social Worker on our Kinship Hub service at Manchester City Council. In our service, we have three friendly and supportive teams in the Kinship Hub who complete the tasks of assessing and supervising kinship foster carers. We have a flexible working system for working from out office based in Wythenshawe, and home working; you would be expected to be in the office two days of the week in between part of your visits to your carers. With the exception during your allocated teams duty week (every 3 weeks) where being office based is required.

Responsibilities:

  • Providing support and supervision to kinship foster carers
  • Completing Form C Assessments
  • Initial screenings/Reg 24's and assessing prospective kinship foster carers
  • Completing SGO (Special Guardianship Orders)
  • Facilitating support groups
  • Supporting training for our kinship foster carers

To be considered for the Social Worker role:

  • Experience of completing Form C assessments, SGO's, and supervising foster carers
  • A Diploma/Degree in social work
  • Registration with SWE
