We are seeking a Finance Manager to join a large retail company based in Sittingbourne for a 12-month fixed-term contract. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in finance within the retail sector and be able to provide strategic financial guidance to ensure the company's financial commitments are met.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Oversee the preparation of financial reports, such as income statements, balance sheets, and analyses of future earnings or expenses.
- Direct the company's financial goals, objectives, and budgets.
- Implement the organisation's financial policies and procedures.
- Establish and maintain financial controls with the retail environment.
- Manage and support the finance team, ensuring the preparation and delivery of monthly management accounts.
- Liaise with other department heads to promote financial understanding and insights.
- Ensure compliance with statutory law and financial regulations.
- Work closely with management to share reports and analysis findings.
- Enhance, develop and implement financial systems and processes.
- Support the year-end process and liaise with external auditors.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Finance Manager, preferably within the retail sector.
- Strong understanding of financial statistics and accounting principles.
- Working knowledge of all statutory legislation and regulations.
- Professional qualification such as CIMA, ACCA, or equivalent is desirable.
- Excellent decision-making and problem-solving skills.
- High attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to lead and manage teams.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Proficient in MS Office and financial management software.
