Reed Education Southampton are currently seeking a passionate and dedicated Art Teacher to fulfil a permanent, full-time teaching position within a Secondary School located in Farnborough.
The school's Art Department are looking for an enthusiastic, highly motivated and dedicated Art Teacher with a love of education to join the team to encourage all pupils to make progress in this subject no matter their ability. There are currently three highly committed teachers who strive for excellence, enjoying a range of traditional and progressive methodology and contributing to the academic life of the school. Teachers strive for academic excellence in all they do in an environment that cares and supports pupils.
The Art Department is a strong department which consistently achieves good outcomes. At GCSE, the department offer Fine Art, 3D Art, Textile Art, Graphic Communication and this year have introduced Photography. A well-resourced department; the subject is taught in four well-equipped, specialist art rooms, one of which houses a kiln room. We also have a part-time Art Technician working with the department.
The successful candidate will:
- Engage, enthuse, motivate and challenge pupils in order for them to excel academically
- Have excellent subject knowledge to include Fine Art and Textiles specifically
- Make a positive contribution to the efficient running of the department, including, setting and marking examinations, attending departmental meetings and undertaking administrative and other tasks as delegated by the Curriculum Leader
- Have good subject knowledge and deliver high quality teaching
- Hold Qualified Teacher Status or equivalent with a degree in a relevant subject
The salary for this role is currently set at MPS/UPS/ECT, and is a permanent, full-time position to start in January 2025.
