Do you have leadership or management experience in an industrial or production environment and want to develop your career further by joining a thriving company in the Renewable Energy industry with a role that'll allow you to make a name for yourself looking after a major new production plant in the area?

This company specialises in the production of biogas through the process of anaerobic digestion at a number of sites across Scotland and have been continuously expanding throughout recent years largely due to their success in partnering with major distilleries. They have a number of new sites in planning, construction and commissioning phases across Scotland and are also beginning to move into other areas of Renewable Energy supported by the recent establishment of offices in England.

In this role you will be working closely alongside the Site Leader to oversee and deliver operations across a brand-new carbon dioxide production plant as part of the company's main facility in Scotland. This will involve things such as team training and development plans, KPI tracking, contractor management, developing/maintaining SOPs and ensuring adherence to HSE regulations/practices.

The ideal candidate will possess an engineering qualification at HNC level or above and will have demonstrable operations or engineering leadership experience gained working in an industrial production or processing environment such as in the Pharmaceutical, Water, FMCG, Oil & Gas, Chemicals or Energy industries.

The role:

  • Responsibility for managing of and monthly reporting against budgets, outputs, yields & efficiency
  • Ensuring staff are competent to carry out tasks, rewarding excellence & helping underperformers
  • Identifying areas for development and ensuring Personal Development Plans are in place
  • Identifying gaps in resources and addressing issues while also implementing contingency plans
  • Managing external relationships such as with local businesses, suppliers, contractors and HSE
  • Ensuring QHSE policies/processes are adhered to & implementing recommendations from advisors

The person:

  • 5+ years' experience in production/manufacturing/process plant environments or similar
  • Previous operational leadership or management experience
  • Qualified in an Engineering discipline such as Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, Production etc.
  • NEBOSH, IOSH Managing Safely or similar qualification (desirable)
  • Six Sigma (desirable)
  • Full UK driving license
