SEMH Teacher

  • SEMH Class (Social, Emotional and Mental Health)
  • 6 KS3 Pupils
  • 1:1 TA Support
  • Hammersmith and Fulham SEN School
  • Starting ASAP
  • Initial Assignment to July

I am seeking a UK or overseas trained SEN or SEMH Teacher for a Hammersmith and Fulham special school to start as soon as possible initially to cover a member of staff who will be taking an extended leave of absence on medical grounds until the end of the academic year. The Headteacher has been honest and said that they think it most likely that their teacher will not be returning due to the serious and debilitating nature of their illness but they are keeping their job open until the summer.

The school boasts the following benefits and facilities:

  • Small class sizes
  • 1:1 support staff in each class
  • Soft-play room and a therapy room on site
  • Range of therapists to work with the children and their families
  • Specialised music room
  • Excellent CPD training for staff
  • Great transport links
  • Central Hammersmith and Fulham Location

The ideal SEMH Teacher would have the following:

  • Bachelor of Education / PGCE / or equivalent teaching degree
  • Primary QTS (Qualified Teacher Status)
  • Proven experience teaching the UK curriculum
  • Excellent classroom and behaviour management skills
  • Eligible to work in the UK (must have valid visa)
  • Recent classroom-based references
  • Valid DBS/police checks
  • A good sense of humour
