Reed Education is seeking a dedicated Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to join a supportive school in Croydon. The successful candidate will provide essential support to students from Year 7 to Year 11, helping them develop skills in literacy, numeracy, social communication, and critical thinking. This role is ideal for an academically adept individual who is ready to start immediately and contribute to a positive learning environment.

Day to Day of the role:

  • Assist the class teacher with the organisation and management of pupils and the classroom.
  • Help maintain a purposeful, orderly, and supportive learning environment.
  • Promote inclusive education, ensuring all pupils have equal learning opportunities.
  • Deliver learning programmes to individuals and groups under the teacher's supervision.
  • Encourage pupil interaction and participation in teacher-led activities.
  • Provide general pastoral care, supporting pupils' personal needs as necessary.
  • Prepare and maintain classroom resources and equipment as directed.
  • Ensure the classroom is ready for lessons and assist with clean-up afterwards.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Good numeracy and literacy skills (GCSE/Equivalent qualifications required).
  • Experience working with relevant age groups in an educational setting.
  • General clerical/administrative work experience.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Understanding of classroom roles and responsibilities.
  • Proficient in using ICT, including computers and audio/video equipment.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to relate well to adults and children.
  • Willingness to identify and participate in relevant training opportunities.
