Health and Safety Coordinator

About Us: We are a prominent plant and machinery company dedicated to maintaining the highest standards of health and safety. We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Health and Safety Coordinator to join our team and ensure a safe working environment for all employees.

Key Responsibilities:

Oversee and manage all health and safety aspects within the company.

Strive to achieve additional relevant HSE accreditations.

Stay current with HSE legislation and ensure compliance.

Develop and manage the training matrix to enhance skills and competencies.

Update and maintain health and safety policies and procedures to reflect best practices and regulatory compliance.

Conduct and develop comprehensive risk assessments.

Maintain accident records, complete reports as necessary, and compile data for internal reporting.

Assist in investigating any breaches of HSE policies or procedures and implement corrective actions.

Conduct health and safety inductions for new employees and ensure Safe Systems of Work.

Issue PPE to new hires and renewals for existing staff as needed.

Organize and record spirometry testing for relevant employees.

Collaborate with managers to develop effective training strategies.

Source and coordinate necessary training courses.

Maintain accurate training records for all employees.

Implement and maintain a report-back system.

Manage building maintenance contracts and ensure statutory inspections are completed and documented.

Perform safety audits, document findings, and coordinate action points.

Organize PAT testing and other essential safety requirements.

Ensure first aid and fire officers receive necessary training and certification.

Attend internal and external meetings as required.

Qualifications:

Proven experience in a similar role within the plant and machinery industry.

Strong knowledge of HSE legislation and best practices.

Excellent organizational and communication skills.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Relevant HSE certifications are a plus.
