Data Practice Lead

Historically big Microsoft Partner, starting now to build out a Data Centre of Excellence which will offer advisory, design and implementation of data solutions for their clients. They have a diverse range of clients who use a multitude of CRM/ERP systems as their data sources, amongst others, and mainly looking to migrate into more modern centralised data platforms which gives them better modelled data and visualization dashboards for business stakeholders.

Data architects, Engineers etc which can look after migrations, this is very much a customer facing and solution led role who will work with clients on what solution they should go for then translate into technical requirements and strategy with the Data Architects internally. This role will regularly be working with CDO/CTO's helping implement their data strategies and using Proventeq to do this.

Most will be Modern Stacks, but this person will advise what solutions they should go for (e.g Azure, Snowflake, Databricks) etc for their data warehouse/lake implementation. This person also needs to understand the value of strongly modelled data and how to implement effective dashboard solutions (visualization layers) on top of this for the clients (e.g PowerBI/Fabric, Tableau etc)

They should come from legacy backgrounds with good understanding of business systems like Netsuite, Oracle etc (disparate business systems that collect their customer/company data commonly used) with good understanding of modern centralised solutions they can migrate them in to.

  • Strong Stakeholder/Communication skills
  • Proven experience consulting and working with likes of CDO's regularly to design data journeys
  • Good technical background from the aspect of how solutions work together, high level architecture, governance, frameworks and design
  • Good experience translating business requirements into technical solutions with Data Architecture and Engineering teams
  • Good mid-market industry knowledge, they'll be key to pitching and winning work (Pre Sales)
  • CRM/ERP system experience - modern ones like Salesforce of particular interest
  • Make sure they've delivered modern data implementations in stacks like Microsoft, Snowflake/Databricks etc. No specifics a good all-rounder here is fine.
  • Focus on Consultants/Lead Consultants/Practice Leads, NOT Data Engineers and Architects
