IT Rollout Engineer Laptop

My well known, well established, Public Sector / Government related Client is urgently recruiting for a skilled and motivated IT Rollout Engineer (Laptops) to join our team, focusing on a laptop refresh project. The successful candidate will be responsible for deploying and managing standard devices through Microsoft Intune, supporting desktop software applications, and providing end-user support for both Windows and Mac OS environments. This role also involves working with Dell support and managing the M365 environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Laptop Refresh Project: Lead the execution of a large-scale laptop refresh project, including planning, deployment, and user transition.
  • Device Management: Deploy, manage, and support standard devices using Microsoft Intune and Autopilot, ensuring seamless device provisioning and configuration.
  • Software Application Support: Install, configure, and troubleshoot desktop software applications for end-users, ensuring compatibility and performance.
  • Cross-Platform Support: Provide technical support for both Windows and Mac OS environments, resolving issues related to hardware, software, and connectivity.
  • M365 Environment: Manage and support the Microsoft 365 suite, including email, collaboration tools, and security configurations.
  • Dell Hardware Support: Collaborate with Dell support to address hardware issues, manage warranties, and ensure optimal performance of Dell devices.
  • User Training and Documentation: Provide training and create documentation for end-users to ensure smooth adoption of new devices and software.
  • Security and Compliance: Ensure all devices and software comply with organisational security policies and industry standards.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with IT teams, project managers, and end-users to deliver high-quality EUC services that meet business needs.

Required Qualifications:

  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Intune, Autopilot, and M365 administration, with experience in managing Windows and Mac OS environments.
  • Hardware Knowledge: Strong experience with Dell laptops and desktops, including troubleshooting and support.
  • Project Management: Ability to manage and execute large-scale IT projects, particularly laptop refresh initiatives.
  • Certifications: Relevant certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator Associate, Apple Certified Support Professional, or similar are highly desirable.
  • Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with a focus on user satisfaction and productivity.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to guide users through technical processes.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with other endpoint management tools and platforms.
  • Familiarity with scripting and automation (e.g., PowerShell, Bash) for device management.
  • Experience in supporting hybrid and remote work environments.
