Role: Operations Manager
Location: Barnstaple
Contract: Full time, Permanent
Salary: £40,000 - £45,000 depending on experience
Acorn by Synergie are seeking an experienced Operations Manager to take full ownership of day-to-day ecommerce operations. This is a pivotal role for someone who thrives on variety, loves problem-solving, and wants to make a real impact in a growing business.
Key Responsibilities
- Handle all customer service emails and phone calls across our two main brands
- Manage customer returns, refunds, and exchanges with high attention to detail
- Respond to customer reviews and monitor online reputation
- Follow up on voicemails and missed calls promptly
- Process and monitor all orders across multiple platforms (Amazon, Shopify, eBay etc)
- Supervise fulfilment team member and ensure order accuracy
- Download and analyse sales data for accurate stock forecasting
- Conduct regular stock checks and manage inventory levels
- Identify trends in customer inquiries, returns, and reviews
- Report product issues, demand changes, and website problems to the owner
- Monitor competitor activity and report relevant insights
- Analyse sales performance across different channels
- Handle B2B orders and wholesale customer requirements
- Use design software (Photoshop, Illustrator) for product imagery and marketing materials
Person Specification:
- 3+ years experience in ecommerce operations (Amazon, Shopify, eBay experience essential)
- Advanced computer skills across multiple platforms and software
- Exceptional attention to detail - accuracy is critical in our business
- Excellent written and verbal communication for customer-facing interactions
- Highly organised with ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
- Proactive problem-solver who can work independently with minimal supervision
- Experience with Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator)
