Programme Manager - Electricity experience essential

Our client is leading the way in transforming the electricity distribution network in the North of the UK and in driving Distribution system operation (DSO) systems and processes required to manage energy networks in a net zero carbon future. As part of this DSO transition initiative, they are seeking an experienced Programme Manager to drive their plans for delivery. You will be overseeing the monitoring and reporting of compliance fulfilling the organisation's responsibilities as well as its licence obligations. As Programme Owner you will be accountable for delivery of all DSO related initiatives, including IT, business process changes, commercial framework development, supporting the team and providing expert project management support. Responsibilities

  • Work with subject matter experts identifying and mapping existing processes that will change due to the proposed operating model.
  • Extensive networking both across the business and at an industry level, representing the company's interests on industry working groups and in discussions with Government, Ofgem and key national and regional stakeholders.
  • Contribute to the development of the DSO vision, strategy and tactics, particularly leading the engagement, commercial and contractual elements to the strategy and tactics.
  • Manage and monitor performance in line with DSO transition programme and business plan deliverables.
  • Lead delivery of the DSO incentive performance, particularly stakeholder engagement, including delivery of those elements that relate to the Performance Panel, Stakeholder Survey and DSO Stakeholder Panel.

Experience

  • Detailed understanding of the commercial and contractual arrangements in the electricity industry, including connection and use of system charging methodologies as defined in the network or system licence and the commercial and technical industry codes.
  • Excellent project and programme management skills
  • Proven management of a team
  • Management of large scale Project finances - opex budget and a capex budget
  • Degree level qualification or equivalent in a numerate subject, preferably supplemented with a management qualification.
  • Extensive experience of working in the utility industry and detailed understanding of electricity industry structure and regulation with knowledge and experience of the distribution regulatory contracts.

Salary: Up to £60,000 + 10.5% bonus earning potential, company car or cash allowance of £4,200, private healthcare plus other standard benefits such as holidays and pension.
