Large-scale organisation, committed to sustainable practices and providing a significant environmental contribution. It is an exciting time to join them as they have some exciting projects over the coming months.

Key responsibilities for the Senior Public Affairs Manager:

  • Develop and lead their strategy and programme of activities advocating politicians and stakeholders in central government, local authorities, and businesses, including meeting with and briefing politicians and key opinion-formers
  • Line manage the Public Affairs team, and support them in running the function and engaging with APPGs
  • Project manage public affairs activities and events for opinion-forming audiences and presence at external events
  • Keep abreast of relevant political and policy developments, provide summaries and proactive responses as required
  • Maintain systems for reporting on the impact of the public affairs programme to the Chief Executive and Board directors. and Committees

What they are looking for:

The Senior Public Affairs Manager should have the following:

  • Detailed knowledge of the workings and dynamics of the UK Government and politics
  • Experience delivering high-profile public affairs programmes
  • Ability to take on responsibility and use initiative to prioritise work and to manage effectively under pressure and tight deadlines
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal/written) with high-level attention to detail and quality control
  • Creative thinking when it comes to developing outreach activity
