Russell- Taylor Group have a fantastic opportunity for a Senior Technician to join our clients Global Testing organisation.
Our client is looking for someone who has previous industrial experience working within a materials, industrial manufacturing or chemical/Engineering laboratory with previous exposure of performing testing, maintaining equipment and working to testing standards.
Responsibilities
- Performing corrosion, metals and materials testing.
- Recording test results.
- Maintaining and setting up laboratory equipment- ensuring that it is in safe working order.
- Work to testing standards such as ISO 17025.
- Communicate requirements to Project Manager.
- Suggest activities and improvements.
- Assist in implementation of any identified actions.
- Client contact may be required.
- Housekeeping of the laboratory.
The Person
- Previous industrial based experience within a testing facility- materials, Oil & gas, heavy manufacturing or chemical.
- Experience in materials science or metallurgy would be beneficial.
- Experience of ISO 17025 would be advantageous.
- Understanding of laboratory safety procedures and experience of handling chemicals.
- Good organisational and time management skills.
- Ability to work within a team but also individually.
- A can do' attitude.
- Excellent problem solver.
