Accounts Supervisor

We are seeking an Accounts Supervisor to lead our team of Accounts Assistants. This role involves supervising daily operations within the Accounts Department, ensuring all financial transactions are accurately processed and reported. The ideal candidate will be a proactive leader with a keen eye for detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards of financial management.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Supervise and support the Accounts Assistants, ensuring timely completion of tasks according to the department's deadlines and timetables.
- Manage daily bank payments, including updating bank sheets and ensuring sufficient funds are available.
- Oversee the processing of payments, including handling the London Payments inbox and preparing payment run sheets.
- Manage debit card purchases and payments for charges such as Dart Charge, Congestion, ULEZ, and online purchases from platforms like eBay and Amazon.
- Maintain efficient inbox management for both purchase and sales inboxes.
- Manage system parameters, including setting up new suppliers/customers in Autoflow and modifying site access as needed.
- Ensure accurate posting of receipts and payments to the bank.
Weekly and Monthly Responsibilities:
- Reconcile intercompany balances and manage intercompany recharges and payments.
- Conduct bank reconciliations for multiple accounts and prepare reports on rent, rates prepayments, and director-related finances.
- Assist in VAT checks and the preparation of tax returns quarterly.
- Manage supplier accruals and ensure accurate reconciliation of supplier accounts.
- Provide support and cover for staff during periods of absence, maintaining continuity and efficiency in the department.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Proven experience in a supervisory role within an accounts department.
- Strong understanding of financial processes and systems, including experience with software like NetSuite and Autoflow.
- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Strong leadership skills, with experience in coaching and supporting team members.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Good communication skills and the ability to manage relationships with various internal and external stakeholders.
