If you have a strong background in underwriting and a passion for building lasting relationships with brokers, we want to hear from you! This is a newly created wonderful role which allows hybrid flexibility with working 2 days in the Croydon office and 3 days from home.
You will be at the forefront of the New Business strategy. Your role is to deliver high-quality, compliant quotations in line with underwriting guidelines while developing strong relationships with broker partners. Your goal is to drive growth by securing new business and meeting both individual and team targets.
Your responsibilities include-
- Providing New Business quotations to broker partners within your authority limits.
- Ensure accurate underwriting in compliance with guidelines, using your knowledge to bind quality business and achieve profitable growth.
- Build and maintain strong relationships through regular communication and excellent service.
- Manage and follow up on insurer surveys, ensuring all deadlines and risk improvement requirements are met.
- Oversee administrative duties, including policy documentation processing and management.
- Act as a technical referral point and mentor for team members, providing training and support as needed.
- Contribute to achieving team and business unit targets, delivering on all monthly KPIs.
To be successful in this role, you will have proven experience handling new business and existing business with your underwriting expertise, alongside this you will have-
- Strong technical knowledge of Property/Property Owners insurance.
- Understanding of the broker market, with the ability to develop and maintain effective relationships.
- Ability to work well under pressure, adapt to change, and remain flexible in approach.
- 5+ years of Property Owner underwriting experience (desirable)
