Senior Credit Controller | Coleraine area
Reed Accountancy & Finance are delighted to be working in partnership with a well-established and hugely successful business in the Coleraine area and are actively recruiting for a Senior Credit Controller on a full-time permanent basis.
The role:
Reporting to the Financial Controller, the Senior Credit Controller will be responsible for managing the credit control team and taking responsibility for all credit control activities within the group.
Key responsibilities include:
Be responsible for a portfolio of clients and the collection of debt on the portfolio
Ensure compliance with the Company's credit policy and procedures
Timely and effective collection of all debts and customer payments
Maintaining contact with clients to ensure invoices are cleared for payment
Resolve queries both internally and externally around outstanding invoices
Escalate disputed or complex accounts to the Financial Controller
Review, analyse and formulate recommendations for credit applications
Working to develop payment history analysis and reporting,
To ensure the timely production of management information
Ensure the continued development of quality management information
Appraise the credit and risk position of the company
Provide regular reports on business performance, profitability and growth
Propose, recommend, and implement process and system improvements
Be responsible for ensuring all software system notes are inputted
Line manage and coach all direct reports
Promote a positive work culture
About you:
3 years' experience of Credit Control department
Experience in dealing with a large customer base - consumer and commercial debt
Skills:
Previous experience as a team leader or manager role
Previous experience in managing a direct debit portfolio
Previous experience in using an accounts software package
Competent in using MS Office and credit management software
Sound Understanding of account general ledger reconciliations
Must be able to work effectively both as part of a team and individually
Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal skills)
Must be able to work well under pressure and to tight deadlines
Excellent customer service skills
Ability to work on their own initiative, have good decision-making abilities
A knowledge of Sage 200 software would be beneficial.
