Robertson Bell are excited to announce their partnership with this growing public sector organisation as they go to market for a Management Accountant (Term-Time Only) on a permanent basis. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone to make their mark in a meaningful organisation as you will have the ability to shape and improve processes across the finance team and work to improve the lives and futures of the next generation.

In this Management Accountant role, you will:

  • Collaborate with key stakeholders to support financial management, serving as the primary link between individual units and the central trust.
  • Produce budget monitoring reports within a two-week reporting period, providing essential financial insights and analyses.
  • Manage all aspects of financial administration, including bank reconciliations, payroll reconciliations, and month-end tasks, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting.
  • Prepare management accounts and summary finance reports six times a year, presenting findings to heads and occasionally attending key meetings to discuss financial performance and future budgets.
  • Provide training and support to new staff on finance and budgeting systems, assist with transactions, and oversee the administration of multiple bank accounts and credit cards, ensuring proper access and compliance.

Based in Oxford, this role is being offered on a hybrid basis, to work from home once or twice a week, but will require travel to nearby offices across Oxford. This organisation values their employees and offers a generous pension and development opportunities.

The successful candidate will:

  • Be a part-, or fully qualified ACCA, ACA, CIPFA or CIMA Accountant, however candidates who are considered ‘qualified by experience' are encouraged to apply if they have experience in the not-for-profit or public sector.
  • Come from a not-for-profit or public sector background, however, candidates with a strong desire to move into the sector are highly encouraged to apply.
  • Have experience working in a similar role, overseeing the production of management accounts for several entities and ensure that the finance functions are running smoothly.
  • Be an excellent verbal and written communicator with the ability to prioritise competing needs of subsidiaries and liaise effectively with stakeholders.
