Principal Water Network Consultant

Working for a consultancy leading a change programme within a Utility provider. Focused on improving the water leakage from a statistic and strategy aspect.

Location: - Reading - (Covering Birmingham to South Coast, the Southern half of the UK)

Hybrid working: Home-based 2 days a week / 3 days a week in the client's office.

Salary: - £65,000 - £70,000 basic + Travel + Lodging as required + Package

Role Description

The Resolute Group are working in partnership with an industry leader in the water and energy utilities sector to find a talented Project Manager. This organisation is dedicated to pioneering innovative solutions that address key challenges across the industry. The successful candidate will play a vital role in delivering high-quality service to clients, ensuring that projects are completed on time, within budget, and according to the defined scope. The focus of this position is on projects within the Water portfolio, making it crucial for candidates to have experience managing water networks or developer services projects, whether directly for a water utility company or as a service provider.

This role sits within the Water Network division as the subject matter expert regarding water networks or developer services projects in the Water sector. Focusing on the legislation set out by the regulator Ofwat and understanding the core areas:

  • Operational strategies (for example pressure management).
  • Network characteristics (for example length of mains).
  • Asset condition (for example age).
  • Customer base composition (for example rural or urban).
  • In-depth understanding of Ofwat (the Water Services Regulation Authority) regulations.
  • Knowledge of legislation governing water networks and developer services.
  • Awareness of compliance requirements and how they impact water utilities and their operations.
  • Experience with processes involved in connecting new developments to water networks.
  • Knowledge of the legal and regulatory framework surrounding developer services.
  • Understanding of customer needs and how to align them with regulatory requirements.

Focused on the organisation's strategy, using the data to greater effect through to looking at the systems and processes in place. Your role is to work with the client, offering advice, guidance and possible solutions to improving their Leakage and helping them in achieving their goals.

This role is working on a hybrid basis. Based from home working 2 days a week from home then working at the client's site as required. This could be any of the key water providers in the South of England, hence full travel and lodgings are provided if required.

Your background: -

  • Water Leakage - Operating at a strategic level in the water sector, experienced in leading leakage audits or delivering reports regarding the leakage strategy for the organisation.
