Multi Trader/Hard Facilities Operative
Location: Surbiton, Surrey
Salary: £37,000 - £38,000 per annum
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM
Responsibilities of Multi Trader/Hard Facilities Operative;
- Maintain student accommodation, addressing reactive maintenance as needed.
- Repair and replace building fabric, furniture, fixtures, and electrical components.
- Handle plumbing issues, including resolving blocked drains and changing taps.
Preventive Maintenance:
- Clean shower heads and hoses quarterly (L8 training provided).
- Monitor hot and cold water systems monthly; flush water outlets weekly in vacant rooms.
- Test fire alarms weekly; conduct bi-annual fire door inspections and adjustments.
- Perform quarterly RCD function tests and regular inspections of building elements.
Equipment & Safety Management:
- Monitor mechanical systems and plant rooms; maintain cleanliness and organization.
- Operate tools safely; report faults in equipment and infrastructure.
- Manage stock levels and record critical spares usage.
Coordination & Documentation:
- Record activities accurately using the Maximo Moviliser Application.
- Oversee contractor work quality, assisting as needed.
- Collaborate with the maintenance team and comply with work and safety practices.
Requirements:
- Security Check: Enhanced Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) check. (You can get this if offered the job)
- Experience: Proven experience in a similar role.
- Education: Electrical qualification (minimum NVQ Level 3).
- Knowledge: ACOP L8 knowledge desirable.
- Skills: Computer literate with good organizational and communication skills.
- Physical Fitness: Ability to handle a role involving significant walking.
- Licence: Full UK driving licence.
