Are you an experienced Commercial Manager with a strong background in Rail, small works or Facilities Management? We are seeking a dynamic Senior Commercial Manager to join our team, to based between in Bristol. This is a fantastic opportunity to lead and develop a commercial team while working on a diverse portfolio of projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Client & Stakeholder Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, their representatives, and third parties, ensuring all commercial issues are effectively managed. Leverage professional networks to support business objectives.
  • Work Winning: Identify and negotiate contracts, bonds, warranties, and guarantees. Develop and implement commercial strategies to maximise opportunities and minimise risks during the tender phase.
  • Project Delivery: Oversee cost and value management, ensuring robust financial reporting systems are in place. Enhance change management processes and lead the preparation of complex project cost plans.
  • Monthly Reporting: Manage comprehensive project cost reporting systems, conduct CVR sessions, and prepare business unit packs for monthly reviews. Provide strategic support during group accounts review meetings.
  • Risk Management: Facilitate risk management reviews, propose viable solutions, and lead negotiations to secure favourable commercial outcomes. Manage disputes with a strong understanding of legal techniques.
  • Team Leadership & Development: Lead and develop the commercial team, ensuring continuous upskilling and alignment with business objectives. Actively contribute to the development and succession planning of the team.

Experience & Skills:

  • Proficient in creating, managing, and analysing complex project cost reporting systems, with the ability to identify trends from data.
  • Skilled in conducting risk management reviews, classifying risks, and implementing solutions to manage and mitigate them.
  • Strong negotiator, capable of leading teams in complex project negotiations and achieving favourable commercial outcomes.
  • Experienced in managing disputes, with a solid understanding of legal techniques for dispute resolution.
  • Demonstrates leadership by fostering a culture that aligns with company vision and safety standards.
  • Experienced in leading commercial teams to successfully deliver multiple projects.
  • In-depth knowledge of Design & Build (D&B) and PCSA processes, with the ability to develop and implement delivery plans for multi-disciplinary teams on complex projects.
  • Able to quickly and effectively produce and supervise contractual correspondence and reports.
  • Experienced in negotiating and guiding complex valuations.
  • Collaborates across business units to achieve win-win outcomes and is aware of personal blind spots with strategies to mitigate them.
