Calling all Linux experts! Our client, a leading utility company, is seeking a talented Linux Systems Administrator to join their dynamic team on a temporary basis. If you have a passion for Linux, system architecture, and delivering top-notch server support, then this opportunity is for you!
Role: Linux Systems Administrator
Duration: 3 Months (Extension Options)
Location: Plymouth (Fully Remote)
Rate: £500 per day (umbrella)
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with your team of Linux administrators to perform a wide range of tasks, from routine system checks to the implementation of exciting new business projects and applications.
- Utilise your expertise in hardware specification, system architecture, and deployment to ensure smooth operations and continuous support of servers and services.
- Gain exposure to various database platforms, Active Directory integrations, firewalls, and networking protocols like TCP/IP and Fibre-Channel.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Proficiency in Linux core administrative skills is a must.
- Strong understanding of system security and the ability to harden servers and services.
- Experience with DevOps practises and tools such as Ansible, git, CI/CD, and REST APIs.
- Familiarity with containerisation technologies like Red Hat OpenShift, Kubernetes, and Docker.
- Software development skills, particularly in bash scripting and Python. Knowledge of other high-level languages is a plus.
- An IT qualification or equivalent accreditations will be advantageous.
