Job Role: Head of Sustainability

Salary: Up to £60,000 + Car Allowance + Excellent Benefits

Location: Leeds (Hybrid)

GEM Partnership is delighted to partner with a well-established market-leading property development agency in the recruitment of a Head of Sustainability. With offices across the UK, they provide property consultancy services with their services ranging from architecture to property valuation and management.

As part of exciting growth and development plans, our client is recruiting an individual to lead their Sustainability activity across their portfolio of services. This is a newly created role where you will be responsible for their Sustainability strategy and its execution.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and execute their Sustainability strategy.
  • Create and grow their Sustainability/ Environmental, Social & Governance (ESG) policies and activities, primarily focusing on sustainability and Net Zero planning.
  • Ensure all locations are complying with sustainability best practice, procedures and compliance standards.
  • Maintain a clear understanding of all relevant current and upcoming legislation & regulation.
  • Engage with Industry, Trade and/or Government bodies to shape future standards and legislation.
  • Monitor and drive the processes and outputs in the business, ensuring they meet and exceed sustainability goals, both mandatory and self-generated.
  • Gather, monitor and analyse data to feed the reporting process.
  • Support with tender drafting related to sustainability.

Requirements:

  • Previous responsibility for Sustainability/ESG strategy and its execution.
  • Open on sector experience and person background, although it is felt property, professional services or consultancy would be a strong alignment.
  • Genuine passion for environmental and sustainability matters.
  • Understand current and future issues, how they affect the business and how to prepare the business for them.
  • Strong experience in managing partners to build trusted external relationships and to establish and grow value and gravitas with internal colleagues.
  • Able to challenge internal stakeholders in a compelling way.
