Salary: £33,024 to £35,745 per annum (Local Government pay award pending wef 1 April 2024)

Repairs Supervisor – The Role:

The Repairs Supervisor role is a pivotal role in the Repairs Team responsible for leading and inspiring a team of trades operatives to deliver high standards of performance and work quality whilst ensuring the efficient use of materials and time in all areas of the team (Responsive Repairs, Planned Works and Voids).

You will be responsible for the line management and performance management of assigned members of the Repairs Team, ensuring the team also deliver high levels of customer satisfaction through the delivery of a first-class Repairs service.

Working collaboratively with colleagues within the Building Services Team, and also all other teams to achieve positive outcomes for colleagues and customers.

Repairs Supervisor – Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and inspire trades operatives to excel in performance, efficiency, and customer service
  • Handle people management tasks such as recruitment, training, appraisals and development
  • Collaborate with HR on performance issues, sickness absence, and colleague development
  • Authorise annual leave requests and ensure mandatory training completion
  • Manage team and service quality, encouraging improvement
  • Manage project work related to fire, flood, and asbestos
  • Diagnose repairs, raise work orders, and create risk assessments
  • Deputise for the Repairs Manager when required
  • Work with relevant teams on property conditions and identify rechargeable repairs
  • Contribute to IT application development, ensuring software meets business needs

Repairs Supervisor – You:

  • Demonstrable practical experience in building construction and repairs
  • Management of colleagues including operatives and contractors
  • Diagnosis of building defects at properties and follow recognised building practice to resolve
  • HNC in Building or equivalent is desirable
  • Social housing and budget management experience is a bonus
  • Understanding of condensation and rising damp
  • Proficient in IT including Microsoft Packages, housing management systems and PDAs
  • Successful track record of meeting standards and performance indicators
