Finance Assistant

  • Annual Salary: £27,000 - £30,000
  • Location: Dartford (Would suit a driver)
  • Job Type: Full-time, Hybrid (3 days in office, 2 days' work from home)

We are looking for a diligent Finance Assistant to join our financial department. This role involves accurate data entry for both accounts payable and accounts receivable, preparation of supplier payments, and assisting the finance manager with reporting requirements. The ideal candidate will be comfortable with a hybrid working arrangement, spending three days in the office and two days working from home.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Undertake routine tasks in the financial department to support daily operations.
  • Ensure accurate data entry into the system for accounts payable and accounts receivable.
  • Prepare supplier payments and assist with financial reporting requirements.
  • Manage purchase ledger entry and control purchasing contracts and invoices.
  • Set up new subcontractors and suppliers in the system and verify subcontractor tax status.
  • Reconcile supplier statements and process credit card statements.
  • Liaise with suppliers to maintain good working relationships.
  • Upload sales invoices into the factory system via the website and set up new clients.
  • Handle cash posting and credit control to ensure timely payments.
  • Assisting Financial Manager with fleet management
  • Set up new clients in accounting system and transfer to CAFM system

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Sage 50
  • Proven experience in finance or a similar role.
  • Strong understanding of accounts payable and accounts receivable processes.
  • Proficiency in data entry with a high level of accuracy.
  • Experience with financial software and systems.
  • Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks.
  • Good communication skills for liaising with suppliers and team members.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
